About Sheila

Suffolk Genealogist and Family History Researcher

Sheila

I’m Sheila, a professional genealogist based in Suffolk, with over 30 years of experience in family history research. What began as a personal passion has become a lifelong commitment to uncovering the past and helping others discover their roots.

I studied with the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies, where I achieved the Higher Certificate in Heraldic and Genealogical Studies, and I’m now working towards the post graduate Diploma. I’m proud to be an AGRA Associate (Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives), and I follow their code of conduct and ethics as part of my commitment to high standards and ongoing professional development.

My approach to genealogy is both methodical and personal. I love immersing myself in the research process — following leads, verifying details, and piecing together the lives and stories of those who came before us. Whether I’m investigating military records, newspaper archives, or parish registers, I work with care and precision to ensure my research is accurate and reliable.

As a Suffolk-based researcher, I have easy access to Suffolk Archives, and I’m often out visiting local churches, villages, and historical sites. I also work with a wide range of national databases and historical sources, combining traditional and digital research methods.

If you're curious about your own family history, I’d love to help. Please feel free to get in touch — I'm always happy to talk about your project and how I can support you.
